Islay

Islay whisky is famous for its powerful peat smoke, maritime character and bold, uncompromising flavour. Produced on the small Hebridean island of Islay off Scotland’s west coast, these single malts are often intensely smoky, salty and complex. Distilleries such as Ardbeg, Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Bowmore have made Islay one of the most recognisable whisky regions in the world. While peat dominates many expressions, Islay whiskies can also reveal layers of citrus, sea spray, iodine, dark sweetness and spice.
